The former United States stopper holds the record for consecutive appearances in the top flights, now standing at 206.
Mr Consistency looked as if he was at Blackburn for life but admitted a move to Aston Villa was too good an opportunity to turn down.

No 47: Tugay (Blackburn 2001-2009)
Tugay turned 39 this year but in fairness has looked about 40 for most of his career.
Appearances can be deceptive however and the Turkish star had an engine in him like a player half his age. The former Rangers midfielder was given a standing ovation from both sets of fans at the end of his last outing in a Rovers shirt - a 0-0 draw at home to West Brom in May this year.
